Each year, InfoNetrix surveys thousands of electric, gas and water/wastewater utilities throughout the United States and Canada regarding their automation and related communications plans. Based on these surveys, InfoNetrix finds use of the Internet as a medium for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and other types of real-time data communications continuing to expand even as fears about cyber-security and Internet vulnerability are mounting.

This presentation will provide summaries, excerpts and extracts from quarterly InfoNetrix Business Horizons™ research conducted over the past 18 months depicting trends in Internet/Ethernet usage in projects planned for the 2004-2007 timeframe.
