Sacramento, CA & New Orleans, LA (April 25, 2002)
A new market survey conducted by InfoNetrix (Sacramento, CA &
New Orleans, LA) has identified US$67 million in Transmission and Distribution
Management Systems (TDMS) project activity among U.S. and Canadian electric
utilities. The Q1-2002 TDMS Tactical Project Activity Report contains
detailed findings about utility automation projects being planned by
200 of the 1,000 utilities that will be surveyed by the InfoNetrix market
research and consulting team by year-end.
We are very pleased with the results of our first quarter data
gathering and the resulting project activity report, commented
Mike Smith, Director of Tactical Market Research at InfoNetrix. The
depth and breadth of our market coverage allows us to provide detailed
market and project activity information to our clientele on both a macro-
and a micro-scale. Smith added that the results of the report
were also presented at the firms Spring TDMS Executive Market
Summit, held in Atlanta, GA on April 22, 2002. These semi-annual
market briefings are designed to keep our clients and other attendees
on the cutting edge of market intelligence in a way that cannot be achieved
through published reports alone, Smith concluded.
The Q1-2002 report contains the results of interviews conducted with
managers at 200 electric utilities across the United States and Canada
by InfoNetrix market analysts between January and April 2002 and documents
both existing and planned TDMS projects. Each of the four quarterly
project reports issued by InfoNetrix during the year covers a full spectrum*
of utility automation products, systems and services for transmission
and distribution operations including Energy Management Systems, SCADA
(supervisory control and data acquisition), Distribution Management
Systems and Substation Automation. Subsequent quarterly reports will
be published in July and October of 2002 and in January of 2003.
